A practical and empathetic advocate, Kelsey works closely with her clients to find solutions that will work for their family. Understanding that family law matters can be some of the most challenging issues individuals encounter, Kelsey takes a professional, considerate approach to assist clients in finding effective and amicable outcomes.
Kelsey obtained her Juris Doctor in 2018 from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, and her Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science in 2014. While in law school, she volunteered and worked at Student Legal Assistance, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting low-income individuals in family, criminal, and civil law matters. Kelsey acted as Student Director of Student Legal Assistance in her final year of law school. In 2018, Kelsey’s efforts were recognized by the University of Calgary when she was awarded the Gary J. Bigg Memorial Award in Advocacy for her superior oral advocacy skills. She was also awarded the University of Calgary's Access to Justice Award in 2018, for her dedication to providing access to justice to under-served populations. Kelsey remains committed to helping those in her community.
Through her experience as family law counsel, Kelsey has obtained substantial court experience, and has represented family law clients in court in a variety of family law matters. Her experience includes assisting clients with parenting, child support, divorce, child protection, adult-interdependent partner separations, co-habitation agreements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, Emergency Protection Orders and restraining orders, and applications for name and/or gender marking changes.
Kelsey joined Family Central Law in 2020, and is eager to help the team provide cost-competitive solutions for Family Central Law's clients. Kelsey has traveled outside of Calgary for court appearances in other court locations in Alberta, and is available to those who require access to affordable, high quality legal services in remote areas of Alberta.
